sustainable energyUNECE’s work on sustainable energy is designed to improve access to affordable and clean energy for all and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the carbon footprint of the energy sector in the region. It promotes international policy dialogue and cooperation among governments, energy industries and other stakeholders.  The focus  is on energy efficiency, cleaner electricity production from fossil fuels, renewable energy, coal mine methane, natural gas, classification of energy and mineral reserves and resources, and energy security.  Read more

Energy Issue Group

energyThe European ECO Forum Issue Group on Energy was established in September 2000, at the European ECO Forum Strategy meeting in Kyiv (Ukraine). The aim of this group was to follow and promote developments in the UNECE region regarding renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, cleaner energy etc. Currently this group is not active but the European ECO Forum follows the UNECE work on Sustainable energy. Many of our organisations are actively contributing to the UNFCCC processes.
