UNECE Steering Committee on Education for Sustainable Development

UNECEThirteenth meeting of the UNECE Steering Committee on Education for Sustainable Development took place on 3 - 4 May, 2018 in Geneva (Switzerland).  The Committee addressed following issues:

  • Implementation of the UNECE Strategy for Education for Sustainable Development:

       (a)    Sustainable Development Goals;
       (b)    Progress in implementing the Strategy;
       (c)    Outcomes of capacity-building activities;
       (d)    Awareness-raising and role of the national focal points;
       (e)    Good practices of cooperation on the bilateral or regional level for
                implementing the priority action areas;
       (f)    Implementing the Strategy and possible developments after 2019.

Eleventh meeting of the UN ECE Steering Committee on ESD

ESDEleventh Meeting of the UNECE Steering Committee on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) held in Geneva on February 15‑16th, 2016 and was attended by representatives of the national governments from the UNECE region and other organizations; its programme has been particularly devoted to the reflection of the work under the UNECE Strategy for ESD (adopted in 2005) and prospect for the future under this framework.

Education for Sustainable Development Group

groupThe European ECO Forum Issue Group on Education was established in September 2000, at the European ECO Forum Strategy meeting in Kyiv (Ukraine). The group actively promoted the proposal on elaboration and adoption of UNECE Strategy on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). Our experts were involved in the ESD Strategy's elaboration at all stages of the process and are continuing its further developments .
